Developers improve configs, plugins, and backend systems that power GoPlay.

What You’ll Do

  • Edit and test approved configs (YAML/JSON) and plugin settings.
  • Propose improvements via issues/RFCs; open focused pull requests.
  • Profile performance and fix regressions in test environments.
  • Write change logs and keep docs/handbooks current.
  • Collaborate with Admin on releases and with Operators on deploy safety.

Role Objectives

  • Stable releases with clear change logs and rollback plans.

Success = measurable performance + safer updates + great docs.

Tools & Access

  • GitHub repos, RFC board, issue tracker.
  • Test server / sandbox with console/log access.
  • Build pipeline (Gradle/Maven), artifact storage.
  • Observability: timings, profiler, log dashboards.

Production deploys run by Operators with checklists and sign-off.

Quick Start (First Week)

  • Join #dev and clone the repos; read the Contributing guide.
  • Set up local env and connect to the test server.
  • Pick a “good first issue”; open a small PR with notes & screenshots.
  • Walk through release/rollback checklists with a mentor.
  • Post a short weekly dev update (wins, risks, next).

  • All changes via PR; require review + test evidence.
  • Breaking changes behind RFC and staging sign-off.
  • Incidents: open a report, add logs/timings, ping Admin & Operators.
  • No direct edits on production; Operator deploys with checklist.
Turnaround Goals: Small fixes 0–48h • Regressions hot-patch ASAP • Docs updated with each PR
